Heroin Detox

At Solutions For Recovery, our alcoholism rehabilitation and drug addiction programs offer the overwhelmed alcoholic and drug addict a new beginning and a new chance at life. While providing comprehensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services to individuals whose lives have become unmanageable as a result of alcoholism and addiction, our goal is to introduce them to a healthy new lifestyle free of chemical dependency.

Our accredited, state licensed detoxification, inpatient and residential substance abuse and alcohol treatment, and outpatient rehabilitation programs offer hope to individuals and families suffering from the disease of chemical dependence.

At Solutions For Recovery our progressive opiate detoxification programs make use of buprenorphine to control and eliminate opiate withdrawal symptoms. Buprenorphine (also called Suboxone, Subutex, and Buprenex) is a synthetic opiate antagonist medication that the FDA has recently approved by for treatment of opiate addiction. This enables us to offer a consistent detoxification methodology for heroin addiction, methadone, oxycontin, vicodin and other related narcotics that minimize the discomfort generally associated with detoxing from these highly addictive drugs.

Typically opiate dependency has been considered a psychological disorder. Treatment entails a severe detoxification that causes incapacitating and often dangerous withdrawal symptoms for the client. Following this anguish there can be extreme physical and psychological cravings, sometimes lasting for months. Statistics show, not surprisingly, that the success rates for this methodology are discouraging. Approximately 85 to 90 percent of patients have relapsed one year following detoxification.

At the prospect of experiencing withdrawal symptoms, several unsuccessful attempts to overcome drug dependency and the lack of ability to remain opiate free over time cause many clients to give up hope. By choosing to continue using drugs rather than face additional suffering and failure, the patient's self-esteem is further destroyed (one of the worst side effects of long term drug dependency).
